Victus (“the app”) is developed and operated by N8 Apps, LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. The short version: Victus has no user accounts, shows no ads, and does not sell or share your personal data. Your food log lives on your device.

Information stored on your device

Your food log, saved foods, recipes, goals, nutrition targets, and settings are stored locally on your iPhone. We do not operate user accounts and cannot see this data. Deleting the app deletes this data (except anything you chose to write to Apple Health, which remains under your control in the Health app).

AI food and recipe analysis

When you use AI features — describing a meal, or scanning a recipe photo — the text you type or the photo you select is transmitted to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic (our AI provider, https://www.anthropic.com) to generate nutrition information. The result is returned to your device.

• These requests are not linked to your name, email, or any account, because the app has none.
• We do not build profiles from this content or use it for advertising.
• Anthropic processes API content to provide the service and does not use it to train its models by default; it may be retained briefly by Anthropic for abuse prevention per Anthropic’s API policies.
• Our server (hosted on Cloudflare) relays requests and may temporarily process standard technical metadata (such as IP address) as part of normal operation; we do not use it to identify you.

Don’t include information in meal descriptions or recipe photos that you wouldn’t want processed by an AI service.

Apple Health (HealthKit)

With your permission, Victus can read activity data (steps, active energy, workouts) to display alongside your nutrition, and can write the nutrition you log (calories, macronutrients, micronutrients) to Apple Health.

• Health data is used only to provide app functionality you’ve requested.
• We never use Apple Health data for advertising or marketing, never sell it, and never share it with third parties.
• Health data read from HealthKit stays on your device. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing ▸ Apps.

Barcode scanning

When you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts (a public, non-profit food database) to retrieve product nutrition information. No personal information is sent with it.

Camera and photos

The camera is used only when you choose to scan a barcode or photograph a recipe. Photo library access uses Apple’s picker, which shares only the single image you select. Images are used solely for the analysis you requested and are not stored by us.

Purchases

Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through your Apple ID. We never see your payment details. Manage or cancel anytime in Settings ▸ Apple ID ▸ Subscriptions.

What we don’t do

• No user accounts and no collection of your name, email, or contacts
• No advertising and no ad tracking
• No sale or sharing of personal data
• No third-party analytics SDKs

Children

Victus is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly process their information.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this page with a new effective date.
